Lightroom Develop Module in Detail

With a few exceptions the Lightroom Develop Module and Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) are identical. They share the same processing engine and differ mostly in the visual interface. So, if you understand one, you understand both. While my Lightroom Develop Module Seminar on Saturday October 21 will be of primary interest to Lightroom users, anyone interested in a closer look at raw processing will benefit.

If you are planning to attend I would encourage you to sign up in advance at the Hershey Library. There is a handout involved and having a head count would be very useful. It also helps the library by giving them an idea of how their program offerings are working. In that respect it will help me as well.

Can you explain the difference between the Clarity slider and Dehaze? How many places in processing can you deal with vignetting? Why would you want to add a vignette?Do you know what color space your file is in, or what color profile is being used to interpret your image? These are actually pretty basic concepts for digital processing but their impact on your images are not well understood.

The Lightroom Develop Module Seminar is on Saturday October 21, 2017 and doors open at 9:30. The seminar will last until about 1:00 p.m. The seminar is at the Hershey Public Library, 701 Cocoa Avenue, Hershey, PA. The cost for the seminar is $45.

On Saturday, November 11th, 2017 I will give a seminar on enhancing your images in Elements. However, it occurs to me as I prepare the information that anyone using any version of Photoshop will also benefit. While Elements does not have all of the capabilities of Photoshop, everything in the Elements seminar will apply to Photoshop users.

I will show you how to use layers, masks, and blend modes to make improvements in your images in very simple ways. This will be a good preparation seminar for those who may want to attend the Advanced Photoshop Processing seminar in the spring of 2018.

Editing digital files is not an intuitive process. You need to be made aware of the possibilities. When first learning Photoshop in the 90s I attended as many seminars as I could as hearing this information over and over was the best way to get it into my head.

The Elements seminar will also be held at the Hershey Library and you can sign up for that any time.
