Tillman Crane at Carson Long in New Bloomfield

Large format photographer Tillman Crane from Maine will speak and show his work at the Maple’s building at Carson Long Military Academy in New Bloomfield. The event is this coming Wednesday, January 8th from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. The program is being sponsored by the Perry County Council of the Arts.

His work can be seen on his website, http://www.tillmancrane.com/index.php, Crane work with cameras from 5×7 to 11×14 and prints his B&W negatives using platinum and palladium printing techniques. I am particularly fond of his work with a 5×12 banquet camera which produces delightful panoramic images. In all of his images is a delightful understanding of light.
Thanks to the Perry County Council of the Arts, Dick Messner, and Andy Hoff from the Harrisburg Camera Club for making this information available. The Carson Long Military Academy is located in New Bloomfield, PA near the intersection of routes 34 and 274.

  1. WOW! Wish I could be there; I must be in DC that weekend for MAT. I am looking at photos as you suggested. I need to spend more time looking at this portfolio but I really liked his work in “soft focus.” At first I thought it was PS, then I realized it was his lenswow!
