Harrisburg Camera Club program and note or two

The Harrisburg Camera Club is proud to announce that Cultural Photographer and College Professor Catherine Jansen of Wyncote, in the Philadelphia suburbs, will be presenting a program on her cultural photographic travels in India.

“No longer bound by family and duty, I became a wanderer, traveling in many countries, often times alone, just touching with eyes, heart, gut, and camera the great mystery of each moment. I worked on a daily basis, taking photographs as an ongoing interior dialogue and a celebration of the unnamable embedded in each experience.”

For my local friends: I am going back into the hospital for another operation to fight the infection. I expect to be back “in service” before too long, and am working on several projects including some updated articles on using electronic flash. Be sure to stay tuned. In the meantime let this thought run through your head; A flash is simply a light source, and not a particularly friendly one. How you use the flash is more important than what you spend on it, and very often the fancy stuff just gets you in trouble.
